So, I have never really tried to start up a site or blog, or any of that fun stuff. This is my first attempt at it, so please bear with me. I’m sure it will change a lot at first, but eventually I will figure it all out. I tend to internalize things quite a bit, so this is my official attempt to express myself a bit!
All of this is wholly inspired by my trip to Cabo. One day, I decided that I was fed up with doing things for others all the time and decided that it had been way too long since I had been surfing. Surfing has always been a passion of mine, but living in Texas it has been hard to learn and really get to surf high quality waves. I went to California several years back, board and all, and had the opportunity to ride some pretty good waves, but I was only there for the day so it was bittersweet. Now that i find myself single again, and doing well at work, I decided it was time to figure out what makes me tick and pursue some of the cooler things in life that I had always dreamed about. That’s when I decided to go to Peru…
Ok, so I found out that our summer is their winter, so not such a good idea to go in July. I chose Peru because of the unique coastline, which creates very long and easy to ride waves. This meant I was on the lookout for a new spot. I almost went with Acapulco, but mainly due to the name, not because of any well known surf spots. That is when it all hit me. For some reason, I kept looking at Cabo. The more i studied, the better it sounded, and come to find out it had some world class waves during the month of July! This was all starting to sound too good to be true…
At this point, I was only venting, so it was all a pipe dream; some kind of mid life crisis I guess you could call it. I started talking about it to friends and family as something I would really like to do, but they mostly took it the same way at first. Months past and I kept planning things and researching about the region at night after work. I mentioned the trip to a close friend that lives overseas and he sounded very interested, so I started making legitimate plans. Long story short, we are 4 days away from our trip, and there are 5 of us going. This is going to be my chronicle of that trip, and probably some other pretty interesting stuff, so take a peek and feel free to browse the photo album, as it becomes available, at http://4themasses.net/cabo
Beware of the crazy colors!
